For a long time I’d been building up in my mind about doing an outfit post. There were a few hurdles I had to get over first, though.
When will I lose enough weight for starters to feel confident enough?
What would I wear? I’m not forever buying clothes so am I even qualified to talk about fashion?
How would I dare to do a ‘street’ post?
BUT — I had spoken before about #nomoresidelines and I’m a big one for putting my money where my mouth is.
So, last Friday it was Mr Bbed’s birthday and we were going out out. I’d planned what I was wearing. A Per Una dress I’d got in the summer sales. As I laid it out on the bed for a quick add to my Instagram stories I thought … I’m going for it!
My eldest son, Dex was home and I asked him would he come outside and take some photos of me once I was ready. My mum was about too and her and the Mr just looked at each other in disbelief.
I thought if I feel good I’m going for it.
There’s a traditional red post box at the end of our road and in my head I had something all creative worked out how I would nonchalantly lean against it … NOT!!
It was a gorgeous sunny day probably one of the last we would see up here in the North East of England.
I loved the dress and another opportunity to wear my F&F espadrilles ( last year’s) and use my old, faithful Warehouse clutch. Incidentally, this was the same bag I had listed on eBay a couple of months ago.
What was I thinking of? Thank god it didn’t sell!
So hear I am in all my leopard print glory …. Overkill to some but to me … no .. breaking some fashion rules somewhere for women of a certain age no doubt. Who cares??? Not me!!
I’d also wanted the opportunity to wear my Top Shop black tassel earrings which I actually got in the January sales but just hadn’t had an opportunity to wear.
I also couldn’t wait to wear my fabulous, sapphire cocktail ring. I bought this from Lisa at The Sequinist. You need to check her out. She does some amazing street shoots.
So there you have me. I survived!! My son, though, bless him, cringed all the way through it and he couldn’t wait to get us both safely back inside. He wanted to know ‘where had I got my balls from all of a sudden?’ Indeed, where had they come from?
Confidence, as someone commented on my Instagram page is very attractive and do you know I think they might have something there.
For this post I’m linking up to Catherine at Not Dressed As Lamb — #IWillWearWhatILike #SaturdayShareLinkUp
Hopefully, this will be the first of many xoxo
