My London Fashion Week Street Style Colour Clash Outfit Inspo

** Warning … I Am Not To Be Taken Seriously … EVER!!!! **

You only have to look at London Fashion Week and you know that anything goes. In fact, the street style fashionistas can sometimes be even more awesome and entertaining than having the best seat in the frow. Like I’ve ever been! 😉

But, who needs to be in London when you have a lovely street, the perfect wall and a blog where you can literally be who you want when you want?

I’ve had this outfit in mind for ages and I mean ages. LFW wasn’t even on my radar when I thought about the outfit. It was only literally as I was editing the photos and all the while chuckling to myself thinking that probably no-one would bat an eyelid to my get-up in London especially this week.

Maybe I would’ve been whooshed through to the Victoria Beckham show. Wishful thinking. Anyway, I think I’m way too over the top for VB. I love her clothes but I think I’m more Moschino, baby.

The inspiration to get dolled up came from a picture Tracey from The Naughty Forty Diaries shared ages and ages ago.  {Sorry I can’t credit .. no idea where it’s from originally}. We jokingly shared over Instagram DMs that we should replicate it. We never got round to it together but it popped up in my mind again a couple of weeks ago.

Like everything I ever do I usually go over the top! That’s what it is though ..  my interpretation.

So here I am; a mid/plus size, fifty something having fun with fashion. Who do I think I am? {Laughs Out Loud Here}

I’m Me, I’m Bloody Me & I Will Wear What I Like

I bought my rainbow bag last year and I know I’m going to be in love with it for a long time. It’s just one of those bags, I think.

My shoes are very old M&S Autograph, the dress was Asos last year and the coat was end of last year too from Primarni. I’m a high street girl through and through but I can dream, can’t I?

Word On The Street is that beige is the new black … Noooooooooo!!! Unfortunately like white it’s a colour that I just can’t wear. I’ll be sticking to my colour clashing. Although, I did once own a Jaeger double breasted camel coloured coat that I loved about 35 years ago so maybe I should revisit. Camel though … not beige.

They are two of my favourite colours. I think they make a great combo, too.

Thanks for supporting my very ‘extra’ outfit, Nancy!! xo

You look fabulous…and…like YOU! I try and try to bring more color and pattern into my wardrobe and it just doesn’t seem to stick. I don’t need a LOT but I’d like to have just a LITTLE of what you’re having 🙂

I honestly thought I wore mostly black until I started documenting for my blog. xo

Beige?! Beige?! BEIGE?!!!!! that is beyond horrific, quite frankly it is probably the worst colour for me and so many others – beyond even yellow (which I like on other people), beige – oh please let it not be true – I look like a cold pile of sick in it, it really is an awful colour for so many people. Still, with all the colour slaves wearing beige the rest of us can stand out perhaps – and you are looking absolutely fantastic, love the outfit, everything about it.

    Beige…. horrific thought

I know, right? I’m the same with white. I love a good pair of white linen trousers but put it on my top half and I look gross and washed out. I love all those articles about a ‘good white simple shirt’ but I’ve never been able to carry off 🙁

Yellow is everywhere .. thinking about a sweater or sweatshirt.

You are right .. more room for the rest of us to stand out .. ha! Thanks, Juliet xo

And you wear it so well! you’re a Moschino for sure! Loved this post. As you know I’m the boring beige type. I’m having a chuckle at the comment above mine! xx

Definitely a Moschino or a Versace, Laurie.

Beige is soooo boring on me but you make it look timeless and chic. You clearly have the knack.

It hasn’t killed you yet!! 😉 xo

Brilliant Sharon! I’m sure the street style photographers at LFW would snap you. I love Sue Kreitzman’s quote: “Don’t wear beige, it’ll kill you”. Wise words!

It definitely kills me looks wise. I look drained in anything light coloured on my top half. Like I said I can do a camel coat but that’s about it. God help me if I ever got invited to a White Ball as well, Emma! Love that quote!! xo

  9. Sharon, Sharon, Sharon, my friend! You are well on your way to Iris Apfel proportions of freaking fabulous with this outfit! Gosh, how I adore thee! Wear what you love, when you want, on your street, or any other street for that matter. Stand tall and proud in all of your complete awesomeness! I strive to be so bold!
