A Visit To The Impeccable Pig & Betty’s Boudoir, Sedgefield, County Durham | Do Eat See Sleep Series

Pink _Hair _Don't _Care

The first in a new series for my lifestyle category on the blog for 2019 – my Do, See, Eat, Sleep series. Hope you enjoy.

Sedgefield was very lucky in that it was the first outing for my new pink hair! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Sadly, at the time of getting round to writing this it has washed out some and I am trying to decide whether to re-do. Yes/No??

I’ve driven past the outskirts of Sedgefield, many, many times enroute to somewhere else. It’s quite close to me here in Teesside although it’s classed as County Durham. I’d heard recently there was a bit of a buzz about the place with some new restaurants. All things considered, a friend and I decided to try one of the newest just before Christmas; The Impeccable Pig.

It looks fairly unassuming from the outside. Smart but much look any other country style pub cum restaurant but step inside and … wow!!

My friend is a London gal and it takes a lot to impress her I can tell you and even she was very taken aback at the attention to detail but most of all the buzz. It was a bit like stepping inside another dimension. It was a fairly dull and chilly Saturday lunchtime in December. Quiet outside on the street but inside it was like another world. The place was heaving and with a great mix of people including what looked like family celebrations on some tables.

We sat for ages just drinking it all on with the help of a glass of suitably fizzy and pink Rosé Brut.

The service was just on the right side of attentive and the food was lush. My friend had the fishcakes served with leeks, rocket salad and french fries {£12.50}. I had the fish finger sarnie  {£8.00} which I can honestly say is one of the best I’ve had. I had to have dessert. I always do. It was the Chocolate Delice for me; hazelnut praline & chocolate with salted caramel and topped with hazelnut ice cream {£6.50}.

We talked and talked .. we always do even if it hasn’t been that long since our last catch up. We didn’t feel rushed at all even though they clearly were quite busy.

We had a nosy around before we left and I managed to get couple of quick pictures.

How’s this for a powder room, ladies? I could’ve moved in.

I can’t wait to take Mr B very soon. I’ve also looked at their website and they have rooms!! Take a look … you’ll swoon. I would be like a pig in the proverbial if I stayed there that’s for sure.

Next up I had another treat in store for my friend.  I wanted to show her a little clothing and gift boutique I’d discovered called Betty’s Boudoir. I’d been chatting quite a lot to the owner, Lily on Instagram. Here she is in this lovely festive photo she shared just before Christmas. I love supporting small independent businesses. It wasn’t hard to find either as it was right next door to the Pig. Result!

Lily’s buying ethos is that she chooses labels that suit any age, style and shape. We mooched for ages and had a lovely chat with her mum, Cheryl who was standing in for Lily that day. It is an absolute treasure trove and I can’t wait to go back. We of course did partake in a purchase or two. After all, it would’ve been rude not to wouldn’t it?  I bought some jewellery for my mum as part of her Christmas pressies; a rose gold sparkly family tree necklace with matching bracelet. She loved them.

And these beauties … we decided they made good slippers. I look very chic around the house at the moment., well at least my feet do. Unfortunately, I didn’t get new pjs for Christmas ๐Ÿ™

My friend bought these fabulous red shoes.  I HATE snakeskin. That’s why you’ve never seen it on my blog. Neither wearing it or talking about it. I have a fear of snakes  .. can hardly bear to type it. It’s only that I know a good pair of on trend shoes when I see them that I’m doing this!!!!! One time only ok?

My eyes also alighted on a wonderful  arrangement of candles and diffusers in a corner of the boutique. Those of you who’ve hung around here long enough will know how I feel about a good home fragrance especially candles. Every day I get new readers because they’ve found my Jo Malone candles V Aldi dupes write up.

I was enchanted by the vibrant designs. I honed in on the leopard and zebra print. Oh wowee let me at them!! Make way, make way!!!

Here’s a peek of my ‘I Zee You Baby’ candle { £38.00} in situ, Chez Bbed. It’s still in it’s box at the mo as I’m getting everything back in place from taking the Christmas decorations down. I’m a bit OCD with my candle obsession, though. I NEVER light them straight away. No that takes a couple of months :)))

I can’t wait to visit Betty’s Boudoir and the Impeccable Pig again very soon. Everything I love in one little corner of Sedgefield in the North East of England. I do love a foodie and shopping experience. In my opinion this is more of what the high streets should be doing right now. Giving people a reason to visit new places.

The boutique doesn’t have a website yet but Lily is very active on Instagram and Facebook. Do check out. You won’t be disappointed.

Bettys Boudoir kindly gifted me the Ashleigh & Burwood 'I Zee You Baby'ย  candle. I wasn't obliged to write anything but I was always going to share because it's my kind of store and shopping experience. For more information on my disclosure policy pleaseย read here.

Oh my – sounds utter heaven. The daughter did her bachelors degree in Durham – she is now doing the masters in Bristol but I could have done with location advice while she was there as madam is a fitness junkie and whilst I am allowed a flat white, that’s generally as wild as she goes. Perhaps we could all book out the rooms and have a wild woman weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

Absolutely adore the pink hair – its not just the colour, but the way your hair sits – quite fabulous, oh heck – love the outfit too
