I didn’t do a Christmas gift guide last year but I’m feeling a renewed energy for my blog recently and felt the urge to share some of my treasures and finds. I would say about 99% of my shopping inspiration comes from Instagram. My saved collections on there act like mini mood boards and sadly for my bank balance also like mini shopping lists.
I’m not going to share them in any particular order or for who I think they would work for. I do think though that there’s a fair bit of inspiration for ‘self gifting’. Wouldn’t be me if I didn’t say that!
But first up as you know I love everything leopard print and that’s why this Scamp & Dude Supercharged Leopard Print Backpack is top of the list.
I have all three of these books as recent new editions to my book collection and although not read from cover to cover yet I love what I have read so far.
What’s not to love about anything that inspires you to be yourself and includes leopard print?
I’ve been chatting a lot recently about midlife skincare
Women over forty and in their post-fertility years are the most underestimated and ignored demographic in society. In The Shift writer and journalist, Sam Baker seeks to empower and give voice to women to create a new narrative.
For anyone who’s a book worm and would love to put pen to paper and write reviews to look back on. Oh and that golden bic.
Tis The Season To Be Fucking Jolly Limited Edition Tea Towel By Pea and Me
Ten Deep Breaths Bracelet from Dept. Store for the Mind
A simple reminder to breathe deeply at moments of high tension. Inhale and exhale once for each bead. Take deeper, longer breaths as you move from bead to bead. Feel your shoulders drop and anxiety ebb away. We all need one of these this year.
Another book … I bet this is a cracker of a memoir.
Wouldn’t be Christmas 2020 would it without some face masks in every gift guide? I’m loving these satirical ones from Ben The Rules.
And any opportunity to wear sequins on anything! Kiss My Mask from Lets Pretend.
I’ve wanted a fun blue plaque for ages now. I can never think what I would want on one but I will … eventually.
My friend, Sarah is a talented graphic designer and throughout lockdown 2020 she has also opened her own print shop selling t-shirts for men, women and kids. I bought the ‘Different Is Good‘ one for our youngest son as a one of his ‘stocking filler’ birthday pressies back in July.
I love everything she comes up with. She’s the Queen of a great quotation.
Also, in the spirit of shopping local I cannot write a gift guide and not share some of my near to me friends and favourites. Don’t worry that they are near to me and maybe not to you. They all post out so just drop them a message.
I honestly could go on for so much longer. I think I’d make a great personal shopper!
There are more gifts I’ve discovered but can’t really share at this point in time as I’ve either bought them already or they are on my shopping list for the family for Christmas. You all know how hard it gets to keep those surprises.
I hope my gift guide has given you some inspiration. What’s interesting to me that apart from the books, my guide naturally advocates small business creators, owners and independents. I still shop at the big retailers but I’ve always found the indies more exciting when it comes to gifts. I’ve actually just made two more purchases while I’ve been sat here sorting this!
Lots of love, happy gifting and stay safe
