My Candle Obsession Continues | St Eval Candle Company

My candle obsession continues. I’m alway buying candles and sometimes I can get carried away with how they look and smell while I’m shopping and I forget all about the ‘hot throw’.  I spoke about throw in my Jo Malone post a little while ago.

Some candles smell beautiful before they are lit but importantly once they are lit their fragrance bizarrely diminishes.

I came across the  St Eval Candle Company a couple of years ago and have repeat purchased their Tomato & Basil candle ever since. The Cornwall based brand is sold in many gift shops so not hard to get hold of once you look out for it. They also have a website if you get stuck.

I stocked up on this fragrance when we  had a weekend break at five star  St Oswalds Farm  and had a mooch around picturesque Corbridge while we were there.

I kid you not that this can give Jo Malone’s Tomato Leaf fragrance a good run for it’s money as far as depth of fragrance is concerned. Admittedly, the tin doesn’t have the same stylish looks but what it lacks in that department it certainly makes up for in every other way.

I’ve never bought Jo Malone Tomato Leaf again since I discovered this.

My latest new favourite  find from the brand is ‘Spring Flower’. I came across it in a quirky little gift shop in Scarborough, North Yorkshire recently called Homebird House. It’s a treasure of a place and I really had to restrain myself I can tell you. I fell in a love with a peacock head. I’m having withdrawal symptoms .. but I am trying to be good on the spend front for a project I need to save for.

I noticed the St Eval Candle Company display and thought I would settle for a candle treat, instead. This was the first I picked up. It reminded me instantly of my Easter flowers on the dining room table back at home. The hyacinth is particularly strong and that is what I was hoping for. This is english country garden in a tin.

My  holiday flowers maybe wilting  but I have this now and I’m happy.

I’ve paid just under £10.00 wherever I’ve bought them and I think they make a great pick me up or small gift. There’s nothing like the waft of a good fragrance throughout the house to uplift your mood.

For me candles make my house, my home.

You really can’t beat a good scented candle. I tend to use a lot of wax melts in my bedroom, which is where I spend all my time being confined to bed lol You do have to get ones with a really good throw though. I love Dolly’s Candles and Whiffy Wax, their melts have such fantastic scents and they have such a good throw. 🙂

I’ve never ever tried wax melts. Just checked out Dolly’s Candles on instagram and they certainly look very pretty. I’ve connected with you on there too, now Sarah xo

… and I’m now gonna check out ‘and other stories’ for their candles. I get excited when I find new candles that smell good when they are lit. Cheers my dear 😉
